History~
Destiny and Lacey were born into the Baccari family in Palo Alto, California and always more or less stood out because they were born with Heterochromia, which made Destiny’s right eye silver and Lacey’s left one silver, because they’re mirror twins. They had an older sister, Jennifer, and two loving parents. Their sister thought that their parents loved the twins more than her, though that wasn’t true. It became so because Jennifer would alienate and be rude to her parents and her younger sisters, causing the family to shy away from her. When Jennifer got to the age of sixteen, she ran away, and nobody saw her again. Though, the twins were only four, and they barely remember her.
Destiny was always a happy and bubbly kid – on the outside, yet Lacey was the exact opposite. Whether she knew what her feelings meant or not, Lacey always had a knack for hurting things. It started with just ripping the heads off of bugs, but soon got as bad as planning the deaths of people in her mind and picking fights with them. Destiny was often blamed for these things, or caught doing something bad, and when she told her parents that Lacey told her to do it, nobody believed her. “You’ve got a terrible habit of lying, Destiny,” But never lied, never told a single one - unless Lacey forced her to. At a young age, nobody thought Destiny could do any real harm… that was until one day the twins’ parents were “mysteriously” and horribly murdered. They were the only suspects, but no one could believe it since their was only at the age of ten.
After that, Destiny and Lacey were placed into an orphanage and eventually split up and put into two different foster homes where Destiny’s “guardians” treated her like a slave. She was forced to do all the cooking, cleaning and caring for their other children and her back-talk got her nowhere. Always snapping off at the mouth, and no one appreciated or tolerated the ten year old’s behavior.
However, Lacey was placed into a home of hippies with easy-going kids, and she eventually got close to their daughter. She was introduced to many different types of music, bands, and especially Kurt Cobain. She fell in love with him and his music practically instantly, quickly becoming obsessed, despite being born the year he died.
One night Destiny devised a plan to get out of there, with the help of one of the sons, Daniel, and thought of every single possibility. Anything that could go wrong was prepared for, and Destiny made it out. Happy to finally have an escape, she never turned back, sleeping wherever she could find a place – whether it be at school or in a tunnel, there was always somewhere to go, always somewhere to hide. Daniel stole supplies from his house and gave her everything he could, and still was her best friend in high school.
Lacey eventually met her foster parents’ daughter’s boyfriend, Henry, and thought he was amazing because he liked the same music as her and their personalities matched beautifully. With a knack for trouble, Lacey decided he was going to be hers, and eventually took him from the daughter, and the two ran off together. Neither of the twins liked the idea of living in somebody else’s home, especially while being apart.
Once they were both out, they changed their last names. Lacey became Lacey Love, after Kurt Cobain's wife, and Destiny became Destiny Ferris.
Destiny joined a gang at fifteen but kept in school and managed amazing grades, because of how smart she was, putting up with the bullying through drugs, alcohol and self harm, though Daniel was the only reason she didn’t kill herself. Full moons were horrible for her, too, but Lacey didn’t get to experience that yet - since she had been the one to brainwash Destiny into killing their parents.
Whilst out and causing havoc with her gang, a rival group came and picked a fight, eventually firing off their guns. Destiny quickly got out of there but while fleeing she hopped over a ledge and expected for more concrete to scuff against her shoes, but instead, it was a deep river. She fell in and almost drowned, but was saved last minute by an unknown civilian and ended up in a holding cell at a police station. The sheriff was a Warlock, and could sense her practically instantly. He let her off and told her to go to Mystic Falls, where she could be around her own kind.
Coincidentally, that was where Henry and Lacey had escaped to, but Lacey had left him on the road half way there as a terrible ‘joke’, wanting to see how long it would take for him to find her. When Destiny and Lacey finally found each other and Lacey saw that her twin had blue hair, she immediately dyed her own to pass off as her sister. Destiny was turned into a Hybrid, and Lacey became jealous, quickly (and remorselessly) making her first kill to trigger her curse, and then forcing her twin to help her become a Hybrid as well. After two years, it was obvious that they wanted to stay in Mystic Falls for a long time, though Palo Alto would always be home.
